What is the real name of “toy cameras”???
Ok for those of you into film, you will know this is a serious question. I have seen prints (beautiful) made from what they call toy or vintage cameras… are they those cameras with the really skinny small rolls of films? If so what are the names. There was an exhibitor at the Miami Beach Art festival and he was selling beautiful photos he said how he made it but I can’t remember the real name of the camera. Please help!

it’s probably the holga. it’s a small plastic camera that uses 120 film. i use them extensively for many different projects. they cost about $20 and are highly modifiable.
in the 60s they were called the ‘diana’. the diana was actually marketed as a toy at the time. the camera is all plastic including the lens. some have a battery operated flash. there’s a model called a woca that uses a glass lens for a sharper image.
my students had great results with this camera. the link below is to different holgas available on the market today.
